Library Cards:
Patrons must be registered and have a valid library card to borrow library materials. Adults residing in Wisconsin may apply for a library card at the Prescott Public Library with a current Wisconsin Driver’s License or State ID. The Prescott Library is part of the MORE library system, a group of libraries in west-central Wisconsin that share their collections. Library cards from the Prescott Public Library are valid at any participating MORE library.
Children's Cards:
Children may apply for their own card. A parent or legal guardian must co-sign the registration card.
Lost Cards:
A patron who loses their card should notify the library as soon as possible to prevent fraudulent use of the card. There is a $1.00 charge for replacement cards.
Checkout Times and Fines:
Books, audiobooks, puzzles, and CDs can be checked out for 3 weeks at a time. Software, videos, DVDs, and magazines can be checked out for 1 week at a time.
Materials must be returned by closing time on the day they are due or a fine will be charged 10 cents each day per item. There is a book drop on the East side of the building by parking lot.
No renewals on materials that have a hold or are on the reserve list. To renew an item, call the library at 715-262-5555; bring the item to the library; or renew the item through the MORE online catalog.
Lost or Damaged Materials
* $2.00 charge for slight damage.
* 100% replacement cost for materials that are lost or destroyed that are still in print.
* A minimum of $10 will be charged for materials that are out of print.
